Post Graduate Diploma in Foreign Trade (PGDFT)
One Year Part-Time Course of the University of Pune
The PGDFT is a foundation course for developing a competent cadre of business executives to meet the country's growing requirements for personnel in the field of Foreign Trade Management. The programme aims at providing a relative view of global business through a comprehensive coverage incorporating all the important areas and disciplines relevant to Foreign Trade Activities. Candidates undertaking this course have lucrative employment opportunities in private corporate sectors. The altered geo-political and economic scenario demands an understanding of the forces of international economic, financial and trade relations; institutions and administrative policies; and the governing procedures. These are essential for achieving economic goals and objectives as well as for proper management of foreign trade. Along with the government and governmental institutions, private sectors too need to strive to find global markets for their products and plan imports and exports necessary for business purposes. Many industrial units in the country would require people conversant with foreign trade and international financial theory, policies and procedures at different levels.
Admission will be based on all India merit considering the performance in written test and personal interview. Those candidates who have appeared for MAT/ATMA/CAT/XAT/NAT are exempted from ASM's IBMR written test and will have to appear directly for the personal interview.
