Who Will Conduct CAT 2019?

CAT 2019 is being conducted by IIM Kozhikode. There are a total of 13 IIMs spread across the country, and each year, one of the institutes is chosen to conduct the CAT according to their rotation policy.

 

How Can I Apply For CAT 2019?

Heres a step-by-step breakdown:-

  • Go to the https://iimcat.ac.in/ and click on the new user registration button.
  • Fill the correct details in including your official email ID and phone number.
  • You will get a user ID and password on your email and phone number.
  • Log in with your new user ID and go to the application form.
  • Fill out the correct details, and upload a scanned image of your picture and signature.
  • Click on the payments tab and make the required payment online.
  • Once the payment confirmation comes through, you have successfully registered for CAT 2019.
  • You can take a printout of your filled-out form by logging in through your user ID.

 

What Is The Fee For CAT Exam?

Candidates belonging to the general category have to pay a fee of INR 1900/, while students belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) have to pay a fee of INR 950/-. These fees have to be paid online while submitting your registration form.

 

Is CAT Score Valid For 2 Years?

CAT score validity is for 1 year only but a few institutes allow deferred admission. This means the institute can give you admission in next years MBA batch based on this years CAT score. However, this is purely at the discretion of the institute.

 

 

Is A Calculator Allowed In CAT Exam 2019?

No, you cant bring your calculator, but since this is an online exam, you can use the virtual calculator given on your computer. It has all the basic calculation functions you may need during the exam.

 

Is CAT Necessary For MBA?

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) is the one who organises the CAT exam and considers its scores for giving students admission. There are close to 1500 other institutes who also consider CAT scores. But there are other entrance exams as well like CMAT, XAT, SNAP, ATMA, NMAT, etc. that are considered by other B-schools and MBA institutes. Therefore, it is not necessary to do CAT for MBA.

 

What Is The Average Score In CAT?

In CAT, you score in percentile. Percentile is confusing for some people. To simplify it, percentile depicts how many students have scored lesser than you. So, if you get 80 percentile, this means 80% of the students who appeared for CAT scored lesser than you. Students with even 60 percentile manage to get admission in decent B-schools.

 

 

What Is CAT Exam And Eligibility?

CAT is the Common Admission Test conducted by Indian Institute of Management for admission to their MBA program. To be eligible, you need to have a bachelors degree from a recognised university and your degree score should be equal to or more than 50%. Reserved category students should have a degree score equal to or more than 45%.

 

 

Does 12th Marks Matter In CAT?

What you scored in your 12th standard does not matter for your CAT exam. What you score in bachelor’s degree matters more. If you are from the general category, you cant have an average score of less than 50% and for the reserved category, you cant have an average score of less than 45%.

 

 

Can I Give CAT After 12th?

No, you cannot sit for the CAT exam after your 12th standard. You first need to enrol for a bachelors degree in a recognised university or institute. It will take you 3-4 years to get this degree, and only after you have scored more than 50% as your average degree score, can you sit for the CAT exam.

Is There An Option To Write CAT 2019 In Offline Mode?

No, there is no option to write the CAT 2019 in offline mode. This exam is conducted online. Before 2009, CAT used to be an offline exam conducted with pen and paper, but now there is no such option. Online is the only way.

 

 

When Will I Receive My CAT 2019 Admit Card?

CAT admits cards have been released on the 23rd of October. Candidates can download them from the official CAT website by logging in using their user ID and password provided at the time of registration. The admit card can be downloaded any time before the exam date, but it is better to log in and check for errors in advance.
