CMAT 2020 Exam Key Highlights

  • The last date for online registration is the 30th of November.
  • Admit cards will be available for download from the 24th of December
  • The CMAT will be conducted on the 28th of January, 2020.
  • Results will be declared on the 3rd of February, 2020.
  • In the exam, you will face 4 subjects – Quantitative Technique, Language Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness.
  • This is a 3-hour exam, and you have to face 100 questions.
  • Correct answers earn 4 marks, while wrong answers get 1 negative mark.

 

CMAT Exam Eligibility 2020 for General & OBC-NCL Candidates

 

General category students are students who do not belong to the reserved category like Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC). The NCL in OBC-NCL stands for Non-creamy Layer, and OBC-NCL also has the same eligibility criteria as the general category. This criterion is:-

 

  • Students need to have a bachelors degree in a recognised subject and from a recognised university.
  • Students need to have 50% or more as the degrees percentage score.
  • Students who have appeared for their final year may also apply, but the admission granted will be provisional.
  • Professionals who have degrees like ICWA, CA or CS may also apply if they have a score of more than 50%.

 

 

CMAT Exam Eligibility 2020 for SC/ST/PwD Candidates

 

As you might know by now that the eligibility criteria differ for general category and reserved category students and people with disabilities (PwD). You should know about this different criterion. If you do belong to the reserved category or PwD category, you will also have to submit documents on the official website to verify your status. Here are the eligibility criteria for the reserved category and PwD students.

 

  • SC, ST or PwD student needs to have a bachelors degree in a recognised subject, and from a recognised university.
  • SC, ST or PwD students need to have 45% or more as the degrees percentage score.
  • SC, ST or PwD students who have appeared for their final year may also apply, but the admission granted will be provisional.
  • Professionals belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category with degrees like ICWA, CA or CS may also apply if they also have a score of more than 45%.

 

 

Course-Wise CMAT Eligibility Criteria

 

CMAT 2020 scores will be considered for three different courses. Therefore, you have to also check if you fit the eligibility based on the course you want to do. CMAT scores are considered for PGCM, Executive PGDM, PGDM, and MBA.

 

  • PGCM – You need to be a graduate of a recognised degree from a recognised university.
  • Executive PGDM –
    • 5 years of work experience.
    • 50% or above in your degree if you belong to the general or OBC category, and 45% or above if you belong to the SC, ST or PwD category.
  • PGDM & MBA – 50% or above in your degree if you belong to the general or OBC category, and 45% or above if you belong to the SC, ST or PwD category.

 

 

Who is Not Eligible for CMAT 2020?

 

Each year, many students who are not eligible for the CMAT exam get their applications rejected. Therefore, you should also know who all are not eligible to appear for CMAT 2020. Here are the students who are not eligible:-

 

  • Students whose bachelors degree is not recognised by the government or government-related authority.
  • General and OBC category students who have not achieved the required 50% grade.
  • SC, ST and PwD category students who have not achieved the required 45% grade.
  • Students who are not legal citizens of India.
  • Students who are still pursuing their graduation.
